James R. Miceli (D-Wilmington) has been a Massachusetts State Representative since 1977. He represents the towns of Tewksbury and Wilmington. His current committee appointments are the House Committee on Ways and Means, Vice Chair of the House Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change and the House Committee on Personnel and Administration. Chairman Miceli previously held the position of Chairman of the House Committee on Personnel and Administration. His past appointments have also included Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Rules and Vice-Chairman of the House Committee on Post-Audit and Oversight. During his time in the legislature, Chairman Miceli has served on numerous committees including the Committee on Education, the Committee on Human Services and Elder Affairs, the Committee on Banks and Banking. In addition, he was twice a member of the House Committee on Redistricting.

Chairman Miceli has been very active in local politics. He began his political career as a member of the Wilmington Planning Board where he served for 3 years, the Wilmington Board of Selectmen, where he served for 12 years, including 2 terms as Chairman. Chairman Miceli is also the former co-chair of the Middlesex County Advisory Board and was the Chairman of the Region 5A Mass Federation of Planning Boards. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Merrimack Valley Economic Development Council, Inc.

Chairman Miceli is currently active in many organizations including the Tewksbury – Wilmington Lodge of Elks, the Friends of the Harnden Tavern, the Sons of Italy, the Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus.

He is married to Jean Miceli and they have three children, Hope, James, and Christina and their spouses and six grandchildren.
